Game 1:Sun Canyon Bank (SCB) - 15 vs Ideal Insurance - 4 (No Joy in Mudville game - Game) Well yeah! SCB improves their record by 1 more! Mike Regner with a Home Run and a Triple as lead-off also led the squad going a crazy 4/4. He was backed by ‘Steady Eddie’, Charles‘Kapowell’ Powell with a triple and a double. Powell was not to be out done also going 4/4. Can you spell, ‘Dynamic Duo’? Kudos to Kevin Schuck and Jim Dourney with 3/4 day. Bruce Eskeberg was no slouch at 3/3, WTG Bruce! The other dugout, Jack Hewett aka ‘Howitzer’ laid down double. Glenn Seeley was 3/3 Ouch! The it count was 27/14. I don’t dwell on these routs as there is no joy in Mudville for the losers! Ideal Insurance…Turn the Page. Ou guys are a ball team.

Game 2: Desert Sun Embroidery (DSE) - 10 vs Encore Floors - 6 (X-tra Bases game - Game) The Hit count was tied 17/17 all. 4 on each side although Ross Kenney gave it up to help the Stitchers postig a Sac-Fli to score 2 runs. Embroidery had the ‘Vacuum-Cleaner’ John Berg who caught everything but hopefully not a cold :), doubled. Bev Buger thumped a triple as she watched team mate Tom Biscan go 3/3 and a Double. Al Windsor was perfect. This was a close game all the way until the 5th inning when scoring 4 in the 5th stitched up for the embroiderers. Encore was game but could only manage 1 run each in both the 5th & 6th.

Game 3: Stellas’ Wishes - 10 vs Larry Ott Realty - 7 (LOR) (The 1 X-tra base game - Game) The Hit count was 10/15 the winners. Oddly the RBI’s = the RUNS for both teams. Strange! But what wasn’t strange was Mark Wells for LOR going 3/3 and totalling 4 RBIs. Bob Luther was not far behind with a 2/3 day and the other 3 RBIs. Stellas’ didn’t need the 6th inning for the win. Oddly the Wishers only had 1 extra base hit. You could guess all day and would be one of your last guess. She’s a solid producer and avid player and a go-getter. You just don’t she Connie Stonier Tripling often, Congrats CS. We could see that great big smile in the scorers booth. Epilogue: I think I hear the Truck Lids opening as the Snowbirds ready for ‘Flight’ from the Heat. Safe Travels! Good Night Mrs. Calabash, where ever you are!
