National League - Halloween 2025
Dennis Horvath reporting
Writing this after a wonderful Halloween Potluck at the Steve Alexander, ‘House of Horrors."
A special welcome to D’elene Kasara with her debut and carding 2 hits on the day.
Game 1: Ideal Insurance 5 - HR Johnson’s Realty 4
(The Ice Age game)
7 innings played but only 34 hits total. The score a teeth-clenching, 5 to 4. Both teams came out ‘cold’ no runs scored in the 1st 3 innings!
Rumor has it that Ideal’s Manager was to mumble…’Guys great defense, but I am sure we have to score at least one run to win!’
Johnson Realty. The score card showed no extra-base hits for the Johnson gang, and only Jim Wells doubled for the Insurers. The Realtor's scored 1st logging 2 Runs but after that, Ideal Insurance tied and then led the way to the finish line on Frank Matyja double.
Today’s games left the Ideal Insurance team alone at the top with a 2 & 0.
Game 2: Stella’s Wishes 8 - Desert Sun Embroidery 4
(The Short and Sweet game)
5 Innings played, really 4 1/2. Common Ladies and Dudes…step on it!
The 1st inning looked like a typical softball ‘Barn-Burner’, ending at 4-2, Stella's.
D.S. Embroidery added 1 run each in both 2 & 3 innings to Stella’s 1 run in the 3rd.
The Time Clock and the 3 runs by Stella's slammed the door on the Embroiders.
The hit count was close with Stella's still leading it: 18 - 17.
Tina Anderson is establishing herself as SCWs, ‘Catlin Clark’ lacking only a HR to complete the cycle. Donna Reed and Pat Hogan doubled. No extra bases for Desert Sun.
Game 3: Encore Floor 15 - Larry Ott Realty -4
( The Trip to the Woodshed game)
6 innings, actually 5 1/2.
If you play sports we all get these games occasionally. Looking at the Larry Ott lineup and knowing Bob Schneeberg as an excellent manager, this should not have happened!
Turn the Page guys! The hit count told the store as Encore had 25 hits to Ott’s 12.
Carl the ‘Machine Gun’ Marchetti doubled forLarry Ott. Encore Floor’s ‘Hall of Fames’ Dennis Farrar doubled.
‘Nuff’ said.
C Y’all Tuesday! DH
